I am a recipient of your gift! I heard a knock at my front door yesterday and two women handed me a pink envelope with my first name hand written on the front. They said "12 Ordinary Women" are praying for you. They handed me the envelope and walked away.
I opened the envelope while I was on the phone with my daughter Sarah who is recovering from Stage 3 Cervical/Ovarian cancer. I am a 3 year Breast Cancer Survivor. I was diagnosed in January 2010 and she was diagnosed in February of this year. I have spent my Spring and most of my Summer traveling between here and in Texas taking care of her.
I was the primary care giver for my two grandsons that lived with me up until having to leave to go to Texas and losing my income as that care givert. I had been contemplating what I was going to do to make up the income loss and with our youngest daughter that lived with us helping with rent, etc. moving out in June - I know I need to go back to work however, the Spring and Summer have taken a big toll on me mentally, physically and emotionally and the Journey with Sarah is still going on.
I know that God is in control and your gift SPOKE volumes to me. I don't know if you are a ministry of a church here locally or "just 12 Ordinary Women" however, you have touched a place in my heart like no other ministry has. I have been blessed beyond measure.
The necklace is beautiful and your gift of financial help came at a time when we needed it most. Like I said, God is still in control and on His throne. He has used "12 Ordinary Women" in a Mighty Way. Please continue to pray for our family, our girls - Sarah's sister's Natalie and Carolyn, Sarah's girls Emily 14 and Rowan 9. My husband Nick - who works hard at Christ Community Church.
What I loved most about your gift was the note of encouragement inside - "You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think." Wow and Wow!
Thank you - to my new found friends!
Always,
BL
